    1. burn your wish list. I want to see your commitment list. I want to know what you are committed to doing with your 24 hours a days to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be. What are you willing to sacrifice inside your 86400 seconds every day to become the person you want to be?
    2. When you are climbing out of a bucket full of crabs, there will be many people who try and pull you back down to their level.
    3. Make sure your willingness to sacrifice and how you use your 86400 seconds every day are in direct proportion to the size of your dreams.
    4. What if our goals were actually holding us back from becoming the people we want to be and achieving our greatest potential?
    5. Rather than focusing on arbitrary goals, we try to focus 100% of our energy on our commitments and controllables.
    6. Rather than setting arbitrary goals and focusing on the outcomes: create a compelling mission for your life. You don’t have to win a championship to be able to live out the mission of pursuing excellence and being a beneficial role model for youth in your community.
  2. Life doesn’t care what we want
    1. You don’t attract what you want. You attract what you do and what you believe.
  3. Your inner circle
    1. If you want to achieve your greatest potential, you must surround yourself with people who love you deeply, believe in you, encourage you, but who are also willing to challenge you to become the best you are capable of being.
  4. They will try and kill you in the process
    1. Many people have a vested interest in seeing you fail. If you succeed and show it’s possible, then they no longer can say it’s “impossible”.
  5. Control the controllables and leave the how to him
  6. How much are you willing to suffer
    1. Everyone has BIG DREAMS, but the best indicator of whether or not you will have a shot, not a guarantee, but a shot at making your dreams come true is the truth about how much you are willing to suffer.
    2. You have to be willing to work when others party. You have to be willing to suffer when others play. You have to be willing to do what others won’t, so you can do what others can’t.
  7. Chop wood. Carry water.
    1. In the West you want everything instantly, but here you must learn to fall in love with the process of becoming great.  Now go chop wood, carry water.
  8. The Resources Myth
    1. Everyday you hear one of the following: If we just had better resources… then. Do you realize there are people all over the world, and possibly right down the street from you, who are literally praying for the resources and opportunities we waste every single day?
  9. Your Assumptions will kill you
    1. Your self-talk is not the thoughts that run through your head; it is what you intentionally say to yourself.

  11. Blame vs. Responsibility
    1. If you are the leader of a group of people, taking responsibility is one of the most powerful things you can do to create resilient allegiance in your troops. If you are a part of the troops, taking responsibility is the quickest way to gain the respect and trust of leadership. Anyone can blame, every few have the courage to take responsibility.
    2. Remember, blame is about the past. Responsibility is about the present and future.
